Effective April 16, 2025, AM Best affirmed the New York Municipal Insurance
Reciprocal’s (NYMIR) financial strength rating of A- (Excellent) and long-term issuer credit
rating of A- (Excellent), each with an outlook of stable and an overall balance sheet
assessment of very strong. AM Best is a global credit rating agency, news publisher and

Town of Granby Supervisor, John Snow, accepts the NYMIR Risk Management Award at the NYAOT 2025 Annual Meeting. Peter Baynes, NYMIR Executive Director, and Jason Keding, Supervisor for Town of Boston and NYMIR Board of Governors member were in attendance to present this prestigious award.
Mayor Karen Brown of the Village of Tarrytown proudly accepted the NYMIR Risk Management Award on behalf of the Village at the NYCOM Annual Meeting.
She was joined by NYCOM Executive Director Barbara Van Epps and NYCOM President RuthAnn Loveless, Mayor of the Village of Hamilton, along with Peter Baynes, Executive Director of NYMIR. They were pleased to present the award in recognition of Tarrytown’s outstanding commitment to risk management and municipal excellence.
