The award was presented by NYMIR’s Executive Director Peter Baynes, who commended the county’s dedication to implementing effective risk management practices that help protect employees, public resources, and the residents they serve.

Risk management is a continuous process that requires leadership, collaboration, and a commitment to identifying and addressing potential challenges before they become losses. Through its efforts, Genesee County has demonstrated a strong focus on creating a safer, more resilient organization while maintaining high standards of public service.

NYMIR Hosts Annual Service Representative Meeting and Appreciation Dinner

NYMIR recently welcomed Service Representatives from across New York State for its Annual Service Representative Meeting and Appreciation Dinner.

The event brought together a dedicated group of professionals who play an important role in strengthening relationships between NYMIR and its member municipalities. Throughout the year, Service Representatives serve as trusted resources and local connections, helping members access available programs, services, training opportunities, and risk management resources.

The annual meeting provided an opportunity to review organizational updates, discuss emerging issues affecting local governments, share best practices, and exchange ideas that will continue to enhance service and support for NYMIR members. More importantly, it offered the chance to recognize and thank these individuals for their ongoing commitment to the municipalities they serve.

The evening concluded with a recognition dinner celebrating the contributions of Service Representatives and the meaningful relationships they have built throughout the municipal community.
